Meet Melinda & Calvin

We're Melinda and Calvin, originally from North Carolina, and we're so happy you're considering Surfside Nosara for your Costa Rica adventure. We made the move and fell in love with everything about this place - the stunning scenery, the incredible wildlife, and most of all, the people.

The Ticos and Ticas (as the locals are called) welcomed us with open arms, and their warmth and kindness are a big part of why we now call Nosara home. We're always happy to share our favorite spots and help you make the most of your stay.

Common questions

How do I book Surfside Nosara?

All bookings are handled through our Lodgify booking site. Check availability, see pricing, and make a reservation. You can message us directly through the platform with any questions.

Do I need a rental car?

Not necessarily! Both of our properties are within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, shops, and yoga studios. However, if you want to explore beyond Guiones - waterfalls, turtle sanctuary, other beaches - a car is helpful. We're happy to help arrange transportation or car rental if needed.

What's included in the rental?

Both properties include bedrooms with A/C, a fully equipped kitchen, WiFi, outdoor shower, and more. We provide linens and towels. Self check-in makes arrival easy. Check each property page for complete amenity lists.

Is there a security deposit?

Yes, we require a $200 USD security deposit hold on your credit card at check-in. This hold is released after checkout once the property has been inspected.

When is the best time to visit?

Nosara is beautiful year-round! Dry season (December-April) has sunny days and bigger crowds. Green season (May-November) means afternoon showers, lush jungle, and fewer tourists. Surfing is good year-round, with the best swells typically March-November.

Is Nosara safe?

Yes! Nosara is a very safe, welcoming community. The area is popular with families, surfers, and yogis from around the world. Use normal precautions as you would anywhere - don't leave valuables visible, lock up at night - and you'll be fine.
